The Smile-Vision's Interactive Imaging Order System Documentation

Welcome to Smile-Vision's advanced Interactive Imaging Order System! Our new Internet-based technology provides you with a Personal Smile-Vision Home Page you can use to place, view, retrieve, store, and print your Smile-Vision imaging orders and pictures.

The system is very easy to use. In fact, once you have logged-on for the first time you'll find the design to be very intuitive and most of the functions self-explanatory. We strongly recommend, however, that you read through these instructions to become acquainted with the system's features and functions. The easiest approach may be for you to print this document and have it handy for reference as you access the system the first few times.

  • If you are accessing your Personal Home Page for the first time, you must see the specific instructions for your First-time login, included below.

Accessing the Interactive System:

Once the Smile-Vision staff has created your Personal Home Page, you can access it by using your Web browser to go to the Smile-Vision Web site at www.smile-vision.net. Once there, click on the "Personal Home Page" button (on the left of the screen) to go to the Login Area.

Login is accomplished by entering your E-mail Address and Password into Logon Screen.

First-time login:

Though Smile-Vision created a password of your last name for you when your home page was set up, it cannot be used to access the system; you must create a new password. This is an important security feature, and it must be done the first time you attempt access -

PLEASE USE ONLY LETTERS AND NUMBERS FOR PASSWORDS

  1. Enter your e-mail address in the E-mail Address field
  2. Enter your current password into the Password field (if you are logging into the system for the first time, your current password is the last name you provided when you registered with Smile-Vision)
  3. Scroll down to the New Password field. Enter the desired new password
  4. Enter the same new password into the Verify New Password field
  5. Click the "Submit" button
The New Password is now active and the old one will no longer work.

General login:

For future logins, simply enter your e-mail address and current password into the appropriate fields, and then scroll down to click the "Submit" button.

To change the password:

You can change the password at any time by following steps 1 - 5 above.

Lost or forgotten passwords:

If you have lost or forgotten your password you must contact Smile-Vision. They will reset the password to the default. You will then be able to regain access by following steps 1 - 5 above. You can contact Smile-Vision at 1-800-634-3480, or e-mail imaging@smilevision.net.


Your Personal Home Page

Upon your successful login, you will be at your Personal Home Page. From your Personal Home Page you can:

  • Visit your Personal Order Page to place imaging orders

  • View previously placed orders, including your uploaded images and instructions

  • View completed cases, each on a separate Web page that contains the before & after images

To place an imaging order:

Once logged-in, click on the link to your Personal Order Page. You will arrive at the order form.

Enter the patient's name and imaging instructions, attach the "Before" image, and click the "Submit" button.

  • The image being attached must be a "jpg" file, with a file extension of .jpg or .jpeg. Note for Mac users: You must save the file with one of these extensions before you can send it.

When you have successfully submitted the form you will see a page that contains the details of your order. While you are in this "details page" you can:

  • Click on the "Uploaded Image" link to view the uploaded image
          (Use your browser's "Back" button to return to the details page)

  • Click the "OK" button at the bottom of the details page to return to the system

Note: You will also receive a confirmation e-mail containing the order detail.

To view an imaging order that was previously placed:

Imaging orders are viewed by clicking the links within the "View Your Cases and Imaging Instructions" table in your Personal Home Page:

  1. To view the "Before" image and Imaging Instructions that were sent, click on the Patient's Name in the table. A page showing the order detail will appear.

    • Click on the "Uploaded Image" link to view the uploaded image
            (Use your browser's "Back" button to return to the details page)

    • Click the "OK" button at the bottom of the details page to return to the system

    When Smile-Vision has completed the imaging process, the word "Yes" will appear in the order's "Completed" column. (You will be notified by e-mail when the order is complete and available for you to view on-line.)

  2. To view the completed case with the "Before" and "After" images, click on "Yes" for the order you wish to view. A separate web page containing the completed order will appear. From here you can:

    • Show the web page to the patient - the bright images on the screen will be most impressive!

    • Print the page:
      Use your browser's "Print" function, and be sure to use your printer's "Properties" to select a high-quality printing mode

    • Capture the images to save for use in another application: To capture an image, right-click (PC) or ctrl-click (Mac) on the image you want to save, then follow your system's on-screen instructions to save the image.

    When finished, use your browser's "Back" button to return to your Personal Home Page.


    Please Note: Completed orders (along with their images) are automatically removed from the on-line system 90 days after the order was placed. Smile-Vision will, however, keep a copy of all transmitted material.
