Computer Imaging
Computer imaging can be an important contributor to treatment acceptance. For patients who need to see
possible results before deciding on treatment, video imaging is an invaluable component in the
consultation process.
Simulated treatment, however is not the only advantage of this technology. Codiagnosis invariably
results when the patient sees his or her own image. Heartfelt questions and suggestions come from
patients when they are visually aware of their appearance and more informed about their treatment
choices.
Advantages of the system
One of the advantages of the Smile-Vision system is the elimination

of the need to train dentists and staff to use an “in-house” imaging system. Another advantage is
the ability to subscribe to Smile-Vision to determine the feasibility of computer imaging in your
office without having to make a large financial commitment.
Cosmetic imaging is an extraordinary tool for offices wishing to enhance the cosmetic aspect of
their practice. It gives patiens a preview of how beneficial cosmetic procedures are by providing
a picture of treatment possibilities. A computerized image can have an incredible impact during
treatment consultation as a “hardcopy vision” of a patient’s dental future. The advantage of
cosmetic imaging include probable increase in case acceptance, improved dentist-patient
communication, and better dentist-laboratory communication.
